Recover Router Username and Password

If you have forgotten the username and/or password for your router’s admin panel, then here is what you should do –

Default Username and Password

Most people don’t even know the default username and password for their router. This is the easiest thing to do, just enter the default username and password and you will be able to login into the Admin Panel of your router.

You can easily find the default username and password on the box in which router came or on the label of the router or on the documentation that came along with it!

If you don’t have the documentation or box of the router or can’t find it on the label of the router then you can have a look at our list of the default username and password for different routers.

Perform a Factory Reset

If you have some credible knowledge about these things and you somehow managed to login into the router and changed its password or username, and have already forgotten or lost it then the best option, in this case, is performing a factory reset.

Once you factory reset your router, all of the settings will be reverted back to its factory settings including any changed usernames or password.

To perform a factory reset, follow these steps:

  1. Take a small and thin object such as a toothpick or a paperclip.
  2. Look for a small hidden button labeled RESET on the back of your router.
  3. Press and hold that button with the paperclip or toothpick for 10-15 seconds.
  4. The router will perform a reboot and after it starts up again, everything will be reset to factory settings.
  5. You can then use default username and password to log in.
